Standard Edition — $79.99 in US digital stores

  • Grand Theft Auto VI.
  • Vintage Vice City Pack for purchases made before November 20: a '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
  • Digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+. Store terms matter: on PlayStation the subscription continues until canceled after the included month.

Standard is not a cut-down campaign. Rockstar describes Ultimate as additional items uncovered through Jason and Lucia's story, not required chapters of the base game.

Ultimate Edition — $99.99 in US digital stores

Ultimate contains Standard plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar's current list includes vehicles, weapon variants, clothing and businesses such as Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor and One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop.

The full bonus list can change in presentation, so the Rockstar support page above is the canonical inventory. This guide does not invent “exclusive missions”: Rockstar's official list does not currently describe the upgrade that way.

Can Standard owners upgrade later?

Yes. Rockstar says the Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately after a Standard Edition code has been redeemed. Xbox currently lists it at $20. That removes the main pressure to choose Ultimate before launch.

Preload and the physical box

  • Digital preload begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026.
  • The physical Standard Edition is expected from November 12 to support preload.
  • Rockstar says the physical box contains a download code, not a disc.
  • There is no physical Ultimate Edition; physical Standard owners can buy the digital upgrade.

No early access

Neither edition advertises early access. November 12 is the preload date, not the play date. Listings that promise a playable beta, PC key or launch before November 19 are not matching Rockstar's published offer.

Which one should you buy?

  • Standard: best default; complete game, pre-order pack, and the option to upgrade later.
  • Ultimate: only if the listed cars, weapons, clothing and businesses are already worth $20 to you.
  • Wait: sensible if you want independent reviews of the upgrade items or do not need to preload.
